Proven Cost Benefits
Pipemodul prefabricated module vs. on-site built enclosure
The Building 2030 consortium’s prefabrication piloting final report compared prefabricated building services components with on-site built solutions.
Our domestic water module was a more cost-effective solution compared to on-site built enclosures, when taking into account both direct and indirect cost factors. Pipemodul’s greatest benefits came from the fast renovation of the refurbishment site, meaning the reduced disruption time on site, which lowered the overall project costs. All prefabricated components in the study were more cost-effective compared to on-site built solutions. However, Pipemodul’s domestic water module was the best of all the prefabricated components in the study when measured by non-monetary benefits compared to its traditional counterpart.

Comparison of Pipemodul with the gypsum enclosure method in a MAMK bachelor’s thesis
Pipemodul’s factory-made installation module is 30–60% more cost-effective 1) compared to on-site built structural enclosures. The savings arise above all from the reduction in labour hours. Other cost advantages of a ready-made pipes and cables module over its lifecycle include easy openability, durability, high quality and CE marking on fire-protected products.
