Effortless pipe renovation
In a Pipemodul pipe renovation, the old pipes are left in place and completely new pipes are installed in factory-made modules in the stairwell and apartment. The advantages of module installation include the speed, ease and cleanliness of pipe installation work and the small space requirement of Pipemodul® modules. The work can be carried out with a small workforce even in large properties.
Renovations using modules have been carried out with over 20 years of experience in nearly 4,000 apartment buildings, terraced houses and detached houses, to the delight of over 100,000 residents. Once the elements have arrived on site, the installation work proceeds swiftly without unnecessarily disturbing residents. Pipes and cables can be routed through the property along many different paths, for example between handrails or through floor landings on the stairwell wall. The enclosures are fitted in place, the pipes and cables are installed inside and the whole unit is closed with the cover section. After the common areas, the installation work in the home proceeds quickly and neatly, for example with an MDF module to match the interior décor. Our enclosures can also be used to implement drainage, cooling, heat recovery and ventilation, always tailored to the customer and painted in the colour of the site.
The disruption caused to residents is significantly less than what has been experienced with traditional pipe renovations. The majority of the work is carried out outside the apartments and water supply interruptions last on average one day per apartment. Our products are Finnish-designed, with the Key Flag symbol as a guarantee of Finnish origin. The modules are manufactured in Mikkeli.

New living comfort
New solutions that improve comfort and practicality can be introduced to the property during the pipe renovation. Older buildings often lack air conditioning and heat recovery, the required pipes for which can be conveniently routed through neat modules. Telecommunications networks and cables, as well as cooling that improves living comfort, can also be carried in the modules.
A general update of other pipes and cables is often carried out at the same time as a pipe renovation. Even if an electrical renovation is not due at the same time as the pipe renovation, it is worth considering reserving space for electrical and data cables when ordering the modules. Openability is an important advantage.
The modules can be designed according to needs and the dimensions of the available space, whilst simultaneously incorporating pipes and cables to support new technical solutions. Our dedicated sales team designs the most suitable solutions together with the customer on a site-specific basis.
The modules also provide residents with apartment-specific water metering, the readings of which can be conveniently viewed from water meters installed in the stairwell or apartments, or remote-readable meters can be fitted in the modules.
a safe solution
Pipemodul is the only European system tested as safe for enclosures requiring fire classification, for which an ETA (European Technical Assessment) has been carried out with VTT Expert Services Oy and they are CE marked. Production supervision, testing and verification tasks are carried out by an approved third party (Eurofins Expert Services Oy) and our products are manufactured in accordance with a quality management system.
In addition to various fire tests, several other product properties have been tested, which together form the safety of the enclosure in its intended application. CE marking is evidence related to the safe use of a property and is the most comprehensive and risk-free way to verify the suitability of a product in a construction project. Stairwells serve, for example, as escape and rescue routes in fire situations, and therefore the exits of properties are most often subject to very precise regulations.
The modules meet all the obligations of the water and drainage decree in every respect. They are openable and ensure easy maintenance of pipes and cables. The solution is durable and any potential leaks and faults are easy to locate and repair. The system includes a leak detector to be installed on each floor.

For a housing company, the sensible approach is to carry out a pipe renovation as a surface installation in openable modules, in compliance with building regulations and good construction practice. The new pipes and cables are housed in neat, insulated and openable enclosures, which make the pipes easy to maintain and repair when necessary. With surface installation, the next pipe renovation in the future will also be easy to carry out. Thanks to the leak detectors, potential water damage can be anticipated before more serious problems arise.
