European Technical Assessment (ETA 16/0828) and CE marking

• Initial testing for EI30 fire-protected products was carried out by VTT Expert Services and a European Technical Assessment (ETA 16/0828) was obtained.
  • ETA is a voluntary technical assessment leading to CE marking for products that do not have a harmonised product standard.
  • The ETA assessment is valid throughout the entire EU and therefore has a wider scope of application than national approvals or certificates.
  • The ETA assessment is based on extensive and demanding system tests carried out by VTT Expert Services Oy.
  • The product tests consisted of multiple fire resistance tests, impact tests, fire behaviour tests and airborne sound insulation tests.
  • Following the assessment, a quality system monitoring the maintenance of performance levels has been established, on the basis of which the modules are CE marked.
  • Eurofins Expert Services Oy has granted Pipemodul a CPR certificate (0809 – CPR – 19001200), which is recognition of the consistency of the products’ performance levels.
    • It confirms that all matters related to the consistency, assessment and verification of performance levels are being complied with and that internal production quality control has been assessed and verified.
  • The declarations of performance (DoP) required for CE marking can be found for each module under its own product family here: pipemodul.com/modules
  • Seven declarations of performance state the technical characteristics of our products and include the results of fire resistance tests (EI30), impact tests, fire behaviour tests and airborne sound insulation tests.

Ministry of the Environment water and drainage decree

• Standing water temperature
  
  • Pre-insulated modules have been tested in independent laboratory studies in accordance with the decree on water and drainage systems, which defines the temperature of standing water.
  • After a period of at least eight hours of non-use, the water temperature may not exceed 24 degrees Celsius.
  • A test report is available from our sales team upon request.
• Other requirements of the decree
  
  • The system fully meets all other requirements of the water and drainage decree, such as leak detection and easy repair, inspection and replacement of water pipes.

Condensation testing of cold water pipes

• Independent laboratory studies have shown that cold water pipes do not condense in pre-insulated modules

Testing of outdoor modules

• Comprehensive environmental tests have been carried out on the products, including corrosion testing of enclosure structures and paint surface testing. The tests verify the durability of the products in Finland’s demanding weather conditions.
