Pipemodul® modules are durable, high-quality products. The products are tested and fire-safe, guaranteeing safe living conditions for residents. Sound-insulated modules ensure that peace and quiet is maintained even after the renovation. Pipemodul® EI30 fire-protected modules are the only ones in Europe to have been granted the European Technical Assessment (ETA), and they are CE marked.

A pipe renovation using the Pipemodul method is a cost-effective solution overall, as several cost items are eliminated. The need for labour is lower and the completion time of the renovation is shorter. Significant savings are also generated by eliminating the costs arising from demolition of structures. This means savings in demolition, waste, cleaning and reconstruction costs. In a Pipemodul renovation, pipes and cables are installed in openable modules, enabling easy inspection, maintenance and replacement of the technology. The Pipemodul lifecycle solution also makes it easier to carry out future pipe renovations.

Rental and commercial properties

With the Pipemodul method, there is no need for temporary accommodation during the pipe renovation. Residents and other occupants can continue their activities in the property almost without disruption throughout the entire renovation. Tenancy agreements can be maintained, and rent payments remain secure and uninterrupted.

Pipemodul Oy has supplied modules to numerous municipal rental housing properties where a sustainable renovation has been carried out with the future in mind. Our modules have also been used in renovations of hospitals and commercial properties. Examples include the North Karelia Central Hospital in Joensuu, and Hotel Scandic Rosendahl in Tampere, where the pipe renovation was carried out without guests noticing.

With Pipemodul modules, pipe renovations can also be carried out in architecturally protected buildings. A pipe renovation was carried out at As. Oy Harjuviita 18 in Espoo, designed by Alvar Aalto, with respect for the architecture and under the supervision of the Alvar Aalto Foundation and the City of Espoo. The entire renovation was completed in four months, with the residents living in their homes throughout.
